RS232/RS485 Multiple Unit Connection (Legacy mode)

The PHU power supplies can have up to 31 units daisy chained
together using the 8 pin connectors (IN OUT ports) on the rear panel.
The first unit (master) in the chain is remotely connected to a PC
using RS232 or RS485. Each subsequent unit (slave) is daisy chained
to the next using a RS485 local bus. The OUT port of the first unit
must be connected to intermediate connector and the OUT port of
the last unit must be connected to another intermediate connector.
The PC is allowed to use RS232 or RS485 to connect to the first
device. The remote command supports the SCPI commands.
Each unit is assigned a unique address, which can then be controlled
independently of the host PC.
